Staying at Fitzroy Inn is a little different from staying in a conventional hotel. At the heart of the property is the historic Main House, an impressive sandstone inn dating back to 1836, surrounded by five acres of established gardens at the foot of Mount Gibraltar.

Originally built as a Traveller’s Inn, the building has had many lives over almost two centuries and today retains much of the character that makes it such a distinctive place to stay. Inside, you’ll find original sandstone, Victorian architectural details, shiplap ceilings and traditionally styled interiors alongside the comforts expected from modern Southern Highlands accommodation.

The individually styled suites each have their own personality. Rather than rows of identical hotel rooms, the accommodation reflects the character of the historic building, with different room layouts, furnishings and outlooks across the property. Some rooms look towards the gardens, while others sit within the quieter corners of the old inn, including charming rooms tucked beneath the roofline.
